To be free...
To Breathe,
To Breathe,
To Breathe
Out of the wounds of our mother, life bringing & being brought into this life,
I am the first kiss to your lungs moving in every direction.
A timeless traveler a reminder to remember.
- Breathe
I, the compass of your very existence.
The inspiration to your hearts’ beat.
I the winds, longtime admirer, flawless & giver of all forms,
Moving unbound & full acceptance,
A silent sage & author to the very novel that is you.
My dimensions & selfless reach in all for all has been forgotten.
Taken for granted, distorted, labeled, misused, manipulated & molded into shapes,
Unrecognizable to me for many, many generations.
Placed in the boxes of your perceptions & the cages of your sheer impudence.
How dare you value me for only yourself?
Look to the right, do you see with an eye different than yours,
Do you see I am with them just as much as I am with you?
Now slowly look to the left,
And tell me, is the gender, weight, job, race, education, age, height or the shape
Of their faces,
Is it more worthy or use than yours?
Re-center.
-Breathe.
Cleanse these claws because you all have been holding, holding, holding, like anxious
humming birds,
Fluttering, breathing breaths, believing your right is the only right.
Taking me fully in, fully in & not quite knowing how to let me go without fear,
Fear of controlling the story, painting the pictures, turning the pages,
Each chapter becoming heavier & heavier as your ink spots create the inkblots,
Creating a stage of complexities, of burdens, of ingrained tendencies.
Re-center.
- Breathe.
Do you even realize, you limit me to a measuring stick?
When did that essence of rise & fall in your chest become one sided, split into unequal share,
see?
The fact remains that without me, you would all be in an absolute darkness,
Without the fullness of light, you would all be scared.
Everyone is scared to lose this breath.
To lose their covering of thick, tattered blanket of untruths.
Real to each & every one of you,
How is it that everyone is so right & so wrong at the same time?
Everyone wants to be human & free & free to breathe.
Breathe...Breathe...Breathe.
So when did your breath become more important than mine?
